Terms of Use
These terms are the agreement between you and GoingOut when you use the app. By creating an account or using GoingOut, you agree to them.
Who can use GoingOut
You must be at least 13 years old, have the right to agree to these terms, and give accurate information when you sign up. One person per account. You are responsible for what happens on your account, so keep your password private.
Events and plans are created by people, not by us
Events, open invites and chapter pages are posted by students and organizations. GoingOut does not host, run, supervise or guarantee them, and details can change. A “Verified” badge means we reviewed evidence about who an organization is. It does not mean we endorse an event or that it is safe. Use good judgment, look out for your friends, and leave if something feels wrong.
Community rules
Do not use GoingOut to:
- harass, threaten, bully or discriminate against anyone, or post hateful or abusive content;
- post spam, scams, or false or misleading information, including fake event details;
- impersonate a person, organization or chapter;
- promote hazing of any kind, illegal activity, or dangerous behavior;
- provide or promote alcohol to people under the legal age, or events that break campus or local rules;
- post sexual content involving minors, or any content you do not have the right to share;
- share other people's private information, or track or expose someone's location;
- try to break, overload or get around the app's protections.
Greek life and recruitment
GoingOut shows chapter information and lets students tell a chapter they are interested. It does not run recruitment, register anyone for official recruitment, or decide who is eligible or accepted. Official registration is handled by your university or council. Chapters are responsible for following their national organization's and your school's rules.
Chapter chats are for a chapter's members. Officers decide who joins and can mute members or remove messages. The community rules apply in chats too: never use a chat to plan or pressure anyone into hazing.
Your content
You own what you post. You give GoingOut permission to store it and show it to other people in the app as you choose, for as long as it is on GoingOut. Only post things you have the right to share.
Reporting and moderation
You can report or block people and content. We may review reports, remove content, limit features or suspend accounts that break these rules or put people at risk. We try to be fair, but we are not able to review everything.
Ending your account
You can delete your account any time in the app. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms.
Disclaimers and limits
GoingOut is provided “as is” without promises that it will always be available, accurate or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for what other users do, for events you attend, or for losses that come from using the app. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law that cannot be limited.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will show the new date at the top. Using the app after a change means you accept it. You can contact us at goingoutbusiness@gmail.com.
